Dierks is FANTASTIC!
GO if you are not sure you want to. I've seen Hedwig and the Angry Inch over a dozen times now and better and better he gets!!! I keep going back for a reason! So, don't GO think about it!
I've seen him set up a small stage in the upper level if the location has a space where he can do so. Of course, he's gotta run through the crowd and slap hands going by, and I've seen him do this LOTS of times! This time I was able to be in the path when he was going to the stage the next section over from me and he slapped my hand, and I've been within feet of him a few times! So THAT is the closest I've been to him! :-) Yes, the little things mean alot to me!
I've been here several times since built, and as the amphitheater goes, I'm not a huge fan of it. There's one way in (with a few streets coming into the same entrance), and the same for going out, which is the main reason being the parking. They do have a premier parking, which you pay for in advance, and when I can, I do that. Due to its closer, and have a separate entrance/exit on the other side of the lot, which does make it much faster to get out of. Also, if the show is sold out, be prepared to wait in another line to get inside (after waiting for parking) as well. Due to the lengthy amount of time waiting to park, then having to wait to get in, people have missed a portion/all of the 1st act, and sometimes portion/all of the 2nd act, so make sure you come early.
OH! Jon Pardi is from Dixon, so his label made a special trip due to the fact that is not far from Wheatland, Jon got his FIRST GOLD ALBUM!!!!! They gave it to him just before he and Hedwig and the Angry Inch sang a George Jones song! It was very cool to be present for this! Jon Pardi, is awesome to see as well.
